MEET THE TEAM

James Salter
James Salter is an American Producer, Recording Engineer, and Multi-Instrumentalist.
Born in Sarasota, FL, surrounded by motorcycles, guitars, and retired circus performers, James was far from conventional from the very beginning.
By the age of 6 he was heavily involved in piano studies, recitals, and the depths of his father’s early rock-n-roll record collection.
By the age of 13, James was playing gigs with musicians in the Savannah area, many of them having been regulars of the big-band and early rock-n-roll era. Vinyl obsessions led James to a job as board operator at a local radio station by the age of 15.
As James exited high school, he was the recipient of a Louis Armstrong Jazz Scholarship amongst several other institution based music scholarships. As the 1990’s music era raged, James quickly found himself juggling local bands, playing guitar, saxophone, and occasional gigs on keyboards.
After college, James continued to do gigs spanning the U.S. and beyond, and building relationships with artists, producers, engineers, and other like-minded musicians across the United States and Europe. James’ first staff engineering job was at Morrisound Recording Studios in Tampa, Florida, where he served as an assistant engineer.
James went on to serve as Recording Engineer, Mix Engineer, and Producer in many of America’s most acclaimed studios (and many in Europe). James has both recorded and played with musicians from Los Angeles, Muscle Shoals, Atlanta, New York, London, Amsterdam, Gothenburg, Munich … the list goes on.
His work can be heard on records with artists such as Junior Senior, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Daniel Ash, Kristoffer and the HarborHeads, Sissel Kyrkjebø an
Devon Thompson.
